The New England Revolution will be looking for a different result than their last home fixture when they return to Gillette Stadium to face CF Montreal on Sunday night in Foxborough, Mass.
New England (9-3-3, 30 points) sustained its first home defeat of the season with a 3-2 loss to Toronto FC on July 7. However, the Revolution bounced back with consecutive road victories over Atlanta United on July 17 and Inter Miami on Wednesday.
"We need to get back to winning at home. It's going to be a big challenge for us, and we need to be ready for that," Revolution defender Andrew Farrell said. "We need to follow up these good two road results with a win at home and keep that momentum going."
Arnor Traustason and Adam Buksa each had a pair of goals in New England's 5-0 rout of Inter Miami. The Eastern Conference-leading Revolution are tied with Seattle for the most victories in MLS and trail the league-best Sounders by only two points entering play on Saturday.
CF Montreal (6-4-4, 22 points) will be playing their third match in nine days when they visit New England. Montreal had matched a franchise record with six consecutive games without a loss (4-0-2) before falling 1-0 at New York City FC on Wednesday.
Montreal goalkeeper James Pantemis' only concession was a 29th-minute goal by Ismael Tajouri-Shradi amid his four-save performance.
"It's clear we play a certain way, and it's not up to us to change our game plan," Pantemis told the team's website. "We have confidence in everyone. That's something (head coach Wilfried Nancy) put in place at the beginning of the season."
Montreal will be without defender Kamal Miller, midfielder Samuel Piette and forward Romell Quioto against New England as the trio remains away from the team on international duty at the Gold Cup.
Revolution keeper Matt Turner and defender Henry Kessler are also away on international duty at the continental championship.
