Taipei, Taiwan (Merxwire) - China Development Holding Corporation (CDF) has recently launched a program to help employees stay healthy while protecting the environment.
Realizing that company culture is among one of the top factors for achieving high performance and that happy and healthy employees are more likely to produce self-driven quality results, CDF has sought to find a way to incorporate employee's wellbeing, while also caring for the Earth through sustainable actions. CDF organized the "CDF Walker", which gives employees a target of walking 10,000 steps per day and allows participants to track and share their results via a mobile app, to meet both of those goals.
CBID Capital International, the private equity arm of CDF chaired by Angelo Koo, was among one of the subsidiaries also invited to join the CDF Walker program.
Thanks to the program, not only did employees improve their overall stamina and burned calories, but they also used less carbon emitting transportation such as driving or taking a bus. While the CDF Walker program could be carried out individually, it in fact brought many of the employees together to walk and take photos as a team, building up relations and lasting memories. The results speak for themselves with a cumulative 670 million steps taken together, equating to roughly a reduction of 96,000 kilograms of carbon emissions.
